Ujvira 100mg Injection is used in the treatment of breast and stomach cancer. It works by killing the cancer cells by inhibiting HER2 (human epidermal growth factor receptor protein).

• Initial Dose: \(840\text{ mg}\) administered as a \(60\)-minute intravenous (IV) infusion.
• Maintenance Dose: \(420\text{ mg}\) (contained in a \(14\text{ mL}\) vial at a \(30\text{ mg/mL}\) concentration) administered via IV infusion every \(3\) weeks.
• Duration: Infused over \(30\) to \(60\) minutes. Patients are monitored for \(30\) to \(60\) minutes post-infusion for any reactions.
• Combination Therapy: It is almost always given in combination with other HER2-directed therapies, specifically trastuzumab and a chemotherapy agent (such as docetaxel). [1, 2, 3]

• Metastatic Breast Cancer: Used alongside trastuzumab and docetaxel for HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer in patients who have not received prior anti-HER2 therapy or chemotherapy for their metastatic disease.
• Early-Stage Breast Cancer: Used in both the neoadjuvant (before surgery) and adjuvant (after surgery) settings for high-risk, early-stage HER2-positive breast cancer. [1, 2]

• Embryo-Fetal Toxicity: Pertuzumab can cause severe harm or death to a developing fetus. Effective contraception is strictly required during treatment and for at least 6 months after the last dose.
• Cardiac Function: It can cause a decrease in left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF). Cardiac function must be evaluated before and during treatment.
• Common Side Effects: The most frequent side effects include diarrhea, hair loss (alopecia), nausea, fatigue, rash, and low white blood cell counts.
• Infusion Reactions: May cause fever, chills, or difficulty breathing during the administration. Pre-medication is sometimes used to mitigate these risks
